"EITHER GET SOME OR HURRY UP"

Hikari blinked, feeling the color rise to her cheeks. She hadn't realized that Candice returned-- She thought that the gym leader was waiting inside of the gym for them. Suddenly, she was acutely aware of how close she was to her childhood best friend and squeaked, jumping away from him. Her eyes darted to the ground, and she self consciously brushed some of her hair away from her face, avoiding looking up to face Jun at all costs.
She cleared her throat and spoke. "U-uh, Candice... What?" The young trainer was mortified to say the least.

Candice crossed her arms. She was leaning against the doorway to the gym, smirking.
"Seriously, you two have been flirting since I left. I got tired of waiting, and besides! The gym is closed now, I'm tired." She yawned, and started walking away. "Your battle will be tomorrow afternoon, if you can tear yourself away from Choon."

Hikari spoke, clearly flustered. Her voice was breathy and her face still red. "I-- We're not-- T-trust me, it's not like that at all," she managed to squeak out. "A-alright!"
She was still completely embarrassed and hesitant about facing Jun.

Jun was highly confused, to be honest. All he understood from their conversation was that her battle would be tomorrow, thus wasting more time. This made Jun pout, and groan while crossing his arms.
At least he got to spend more time with Hikari.
Wait, where did that thought come from?
"Girls!" he finally huffed out while throwing his arms in the air, deciding that was a better response than anything.

"Let's just go to the Pokemon Center," she muttered, still looking down at the ground. Her blush had yet to subside, and she was still incredibly embarrassed.

Jun raised a brow at Hikari, wondering why she was acting so weird and just shook his head. "Alright, but I swear, you girls are the weirdest things ever."

"No--! You're just dense," Hikari retorted, walking towards the center, still refusing to look at him.

"Dense?! I'm sorry for not understanding girl talk! It's not the easiest language to learn, for your information! It hurts my head just thinking about it!" he kept flailing his arms around while Tor' just stared at his trainer as though he was a madman.
It was a good comparison if you thought about it.

Hikari looked back at him over her shoulder and rolled her eyes. "Nevermind. Just forget everything Candice said. It's not really important."

He was about to ask what Candice had said and meant exactly, but decided against it when he actually noticed her somber movements. He wasn't sure what to do, or how he even picked up on her emotions, but Tor' nudged him slightly, making Jun blush a bit because apparently his starter had caught on. He shot a glare at Tor', but a small one, and caught up to Hikari and softly slapped her shoulder.
"Jeez Hikari, why are you being such a downer? Just smile already, it's weird not seeing you smile."

She looked back up at her friend and smiled. "Oh, sorry. I guess what Candice said just kind of caught me off guard--!"
Hikari hadn't meant to worry him, honestly, but she couldn't help but think of what Candice said. And she was definitely wrong. Things were not like that between the two of them. He was her best friend and to think of him in any other way gave her a strange feeling in her stomach.

"Well don't worry about it too much, it's kinda freaky to see you so... Not, bubbly?" He really wasn't sure what to say to make the situation any better, or even any less awkward. Tor' didn't even help him along and just followed the two trainers innocently. For once, Jun wished his starter would help, he wasn't good with these kinds of things.
"So uh... You got anything that could be used against ice types?" Battling always on the mind, tsk tsk.

"Yeah, I guess you're right," she agreed. Hikari had never felt this awkward around her friend in all of the years she'd known him, and that was saying a lot considering all of the trouble they got into a children. What was even worse was that she was sure Jun wasn't feeling nearly as awkward as she was. Oh, she wished Candice hadn't said anything earlier.
Hikari's attention turned back to him and she nodded. "Yeah, I do. It shouldn't be too hard of a battle. I just want to get to Sunyshore. I'm already sick of the snow here."

"You and me both!" he frowned, kicking some of the snow around him, but to much avail; the snow was rather deep and heavy to just be kicked around. He practically growled but decided it'd just be stupid to get angry over snow.
"Arceus I hate snow so much I don't even know why mom told me to get up here..."
