{H}istory:
Even as a child, Misty was ambitious. Maybe it came from being yet another kid in a small city, or maybe it was because she didn't want to be hidden in her older sister's shadow; whatever the reason, she's always been a dreamer. Ever since she was old enough to express her wants and desires, Misty's admitted to harboring dreams of a certain grandeur. She wanted to be the best at everything. The best swimmer, the best trainer, the best sister -- that last one wasn't a possibility (as few parents go as far as picking a favorite child) but the other two were, after lots of hard work and training, attained, at least in her city.[/blockquote]
Cerulean Cape: a romantic date spot just north of the city. It was where her parents went on their first date (and many thereafter), and where her father proposed. It was where she herself met her first Pokemon, Magikarp, and discovered her fascination for water Pokemon. It was where that Magikarp eventually evolved, where she was when she learned she had passed the test to become the Gym Leader of Cerulean City. It was where she and her sister spent so many evenings, and where they said their last goodbyes. So many significant things have happened there, well, it's no wonder she holds such high hopes for it.
{P}ersonality:
Misty is known around Kanto as "The Tomboyish Mermaid," which highlights the main aspects of her as a trainer. She loves water-type Pokemon and will go to extreme lengths to catch, or even to see, a water-type she hasn't yet encountered. As for the tomboyish part, that should be self-explantory: Misty is, without a doubt in the world, a tomboy.[/blockquote]
She's a bit of a perfectionist; never doing anything without putting her all into it and always wanting to be the best. Many of the best days in Kanto are spent at the Seafoam Islands, swimming and training with her Pokemon. This also shows how ambitious she is: one day, Misty hopes to be a great trainer like her idol, Lorelei, of the Kanto Elite Four.
Maybe it goes with being agingerredhead, but Misty does have quite a temper. She doesn't get angry when she loses, no -- she's a good sport -- but overstepping your boundaries will get you an earful. She does apologize if she feels she's been too harsh, but she'll also expect you to remember why she yelled at you in the first place and expect you not to do the same thing again. Not only is she hard on herself, but she's sometimes hard on others, too.
