With things at the Pokemon League running rather slow as of late, Shikimi took the opportunity to travel back to her hometown of Mistralton City.
'It's time for a change of pace,' she thought to herself as she clutched her notebook in her hands. Lately, nothing she wrote seemed to be good enough. Shikimi didn't like the term "writer's block", which was why she would keep early mornings and late nights saved for writing and self-editing. There was nothing wrong with pushing herself. She allowed herself to have her un-brilliant moments and to write as many drafts as she needed. Everything was a work in progress.
However, with the battles being rather lackluster and the current fanfiction prompts so uninspiring, even the ghost-type elite's muse seem to run dry.
As she walked around the neighborhood, she smiled to herself, rather pleased with the partly cloudy weather. "At least it isn't raining," she said to herself. Hmm. Who could she observe for now?

Skyla was in another rut, the canon at her Gym still hadn't fixed it just yet so there wasn't much she could do for now. She could still battle but otherwise seeing the last canon not working for her wasn't so good. It sucked really.
She closed the Gym for a little break, and started to walk around her home town. It was really quiet today and she was glad that creeper N wasn't hanging outside her Gym again, and thankfully Grimsley hadn't bothered to come around just yet.
The Gym Leader was skipping away, before she noticed a familiar purple-haired Elite Four member.
"Shikimi, what are you doing back in Mistralton?" It had been a long time since she saw her back in her hometown.

The red-head caught Shikimi's eye before she spoke. "Oh, is that who I think it is?" She dashed over to her. "Why, yes! It is you! How are you, Skyla?" She beamed warmly, cradling her notebook in her arms. "The pokemon league hasn't had many challengers as of late, and I've been in sort of... eh, a writing rut, really. I thought it'd be a great time to come home for a while!"
